The AWS AI Practitioner practice exam on this site is 422 exam-style AIF-C01 questions, each with a written explanation. The first 30 are free with a free account, and the full set is $4.99. Start here if you'd rather just answer questions.

AIF-C01 is 65 questions in 90 minutes, scored out of 1000 with 700 to pass, and the exam fee is $100. It's a foundational cert, which leads a lot of people to under-prepare and then get caught by the parts that aren't foundational at all.

What's on the AIF-C01 exam?

Five domains:

Domain Weight
Fundamentals of AI and ML 20%
Fundamentals of GenAI 24%
Applications of Foundation Models 28%
Guidelines for Responsible AI 14%
Security, Compliance, and Governance for AI Solutions 14%

Look at where the weight sits. Applications of Foundation Models is the biggest domain at 28%, and together with Fundamentals of GenAI that's 52% of the exam about generative AI specifically. This is not a general machine learning exam with a GenAI chapter bolted on.

The other thing worth noting: Responsible AI plus Security and Governance is 28% combined, the same as the largest single domain. People skip these because they read as policy rather than tech, and they're very answerable if you actually read them. Bias, transparency, model governance, and the security posture around AI workloads are marks sitting on the table.

AIF-C01 has question types most AWS exams don't

This is the detail that catches people, and it's why practising on generic AWS questions isn't enough.

Alongside multiple choice and multiple response, AIF-C01 uses ordering and matching questions. Ordering asks you to put steps into the correct sequence. Matching asks you to pair items across two lists. Neither rewards the elimination tactics that work on standard multiple choice, because there's no "one obviously wrong option" to cross out. You either know the relationship or you don't.

If your practice has been all four-option multiple choice, the first ordering question in the real exam is a surprise you didn't need to have.

How many practice questions do you need for AIF-C01?

Enough to cover all five domains repeatedly, and specifically enough to stop confusing terms that sound alike.

The AI/ML vocabulary is where this exam does its damage. Fine-tuning and RAG. Temperature and top-p. Foundation model and base model. Inference and training. Each pair is easy to nod along to in a video and easy to swap under time pressure. Questions are how you find out which ones you've actually separated, and that takes repetition across differently-worded scenarios rather than a single pass through 50 questions.

The set has 422 questions, which is more than you need to finish. That's the point. You want to keep meeting the same concepts in unfamiliar shapes until nothing surprises you.

What score means you're ready to book?

Clear 700 out of 1000 on a timed mock, on questions you haven't just revised, and be able to explain why the wrong options are wrong.

That last condition matters more here than on most exams. Because so much of AIF-C01 is conceptual rather than service-specific, it's unusually easy to pick the right answer by vibe. Vibes hold up until two of the four options are both plausible-sounding GenAI terms, which is exactly how this exam is written.

Do at least one full timed run before booking. 90 minutes for 65 questions is comfortable, but ordering and matching take longer per question than you expect the first time.

Getting the most out of the questions

Read every explanation, including on correct answers. If you were right for the wrong reason, the explanation is the only place you'll find out.

Use practice mode to learn, mock exam mode to test. Practice mode reveals the explanation after each answer. Mock exam mode is timed and scored against the real format, so save it for readiness checks rather than burning it as study material.

Then run Fix mistakes. It requeues only what you got wrong, so your second pass is entirely gaps. Answering 422 questions once and never returning to the misses is the most common way people leave marks on the table.

Flag guesses as you go. A guess that lands looks like knowledge in your score and behaves nothing like it in the exam.

The AWS AI Practitioner set has all 422 questions with explanations, timed mock exam mode at the official 65-question, 90-minute format, and Fix mistakes for the second pass. The first 30 questions are free with a free account, so you can see whether the questions are any good before spending $4.99.

For a full preparation plan rather than just questions, the AWS AI Practitioner study guide covers the domains in order. If you're weighing this against other AWS entry points, the AWS certification path lays out where AIF-C01 fits.

FAQ

Is there a free AWS AI Practitioner practice exam?

The first 30 questions of the AIF-C01 set are free with a free account, no card. The full 422-question set is $4.99 one-time, which includes every explanation, the timed mock exam mode, and Fix mistakes.

How many questions are on the AIF-C01 exam?

65 questions in 90 minutes. Only 50 are scored; the remaining 15 are unscored questions AWS is evaluating for future use. You can't tell them apart, so answer all 65 as though they count.

What is the passing score for AWS AI Practitioner?

700 on a scaled range of 100 to 1000. Because it's scaled, there's no fixed number of questions you're allowed to get wrong.

How much does the AIF-C01 exam cost?

$100. Failed attempts aren't refunded, so a retake costs the full fee again.

What question types are on AIF-C01?

Multiple choice, multiple response, ordering, and matching. The ordering and matching formats are worth practising specifically, since they don't respond to the process-of-elimination approach that works on standard multiple choice.

Do I need experience before taking AWS AI Practitioner?

There are no formal prerequisites. AWS recommends familiarity with AI and ML technologies on AWS, with up to six months of exposure. For people new to IT and cloud, it suggests foundational courses such as AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials or AWS Technical Essentials first.

How long is the AWS AI Practitioner certification valid?

Three years from the date you pass.

Are these dumps or recalled questions?

No. They're original questions written against the official AWS exam guide to match the format, domains, and difficulty. Anything advertising recalled live exam content is selling dumps, which breach the AWS certification agreement and can get your score voided and your account banned.
